Roy Keane moved by Ian Wright interview as he praises Arsenal legend for ‘powerful’ segment

Roy Keane was visibly moved after Arsenal legend conducted an interview with non-league striker Adrian Clifton.

Keane and Wright appeared on last weekend’s ITV FA Cup coverage and the Arsenal legend caught up with Clifton 13 years after their first encounter.

The Boreham Wood striker appeared on Wright’s ‘Football Behind Bars’ show back in 2009 when he was in a young offenders institution but since leaving prison has made a career in non-league football and Clifton appeared on ITV’s coverage to thank Wright for his mentorship as he turned his life around.

And after the segments aired on ITV, Keane praised his friend and colleague.

Speaking on the coverage, Keane patted Wright’s knee and said: Brilliant, very powerful. Great story, well done Wrighty.

“You gave him a bit of hope. Brilliant stuff. Absolutely brilliant.”
