Max George has revealed he was put on an intravenous drip after suffering from dehydration and a perforated eardrum after competing in the Games.

The Wanted singer, 33, took to his Instagram story on Monday to show off his drip hook.

He later addressed his supporters from his bed, saying he had been given strong painkillers and needed to go to the hospital.

He said: ‘Hi guys. Obviously, I stopped earlier. The last few days have therefore been a bit difficult.

“I perforated my eardrum a few days ago, so it’s giving me so it’s giving me a lot of dizziness.”

Max added: “I took a lot of painkillers so I think I just got dehydrated. But everything is fine. I was rehydrated.

“I’m in the hospital tomorrow to have it checked out and make sure everything is ok and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I can go swimming as it’s an event I love.”

“Yeah, it’s been a tough few days and there’s a lot of people asking ‘What happened? I’m fine? I’m fine, just a little shaky with my ear and yeah, I’m just a little dehydrated from taking a shitload of painkillers, but everyone loves you and I hope to see you tomorrow.

During Monday night’s episode of the Games, Max suffered an on-screen injury while running in the 400m event when fans noticed he was starting to slow down and hold his leg.

Addressing the incident, he explained that he had cramps in his “*** cheeks” and congratulated Wes Nelson on his win on the show.

Max’s injuries come after he shared a touching tribute to his late teammate Tom Parker on Sunday.

The Wanted singer died on March 30 at the age of 33 surrounded by loved ones and bandmates, after a two-year battle with stage 4 glioblastoma.

Taking to his Instagram account, Max shared a throwback photo with his “true friend” Tom, relaxing together on a sofa, Max giving a thumbs-up sign as he cuddled his pal.

In a hugely moving caption, he wrote: “Many people will come in and out of your life, but only true friends leave footprints in your heart.”

Within minutes, the couple’s fans flocked to the comments section to offer their support as they remembered their friendship.

One fan said, “He’s lucky to have a friend like you.”
