Mask rules look set to be scrapped in New South Wales schools

Currently, students in high school and teachers in all schools are required to wear masks indoors.

Masks for primary school students have been highly recommended since children went back to the classroom.

However, 9News political reporter Chris O’Keefe says he understands masks will no longer be compulsory for school students by the end of February.

Primary school teachers will need to continue to wear masks until March 7.

Cohorting within schools, which has meant students are not allowed to mix with other year groups, was also set to be scrapped, O’Keefe said.
