Let the games begin ! Megan Barton Hanson’s ex Chelcee Grimes wins women’s 100m


Chelcee Grimes won the women’s 100m race on the first episode of ITV’s Games on Monday night.

The 30-year-old songwriter, who is the ex-girlfriend of Megan Barton Hanson, was neck and neck with Mel B’s daughter Phoenix Chi, 23, and admitted she knows the offspring of fame would be one to watch in his winning speech.

Stealing the show as she beat her rivals to the finish line, she faced Rebecca Sarker, 46, Olivia Attwood, 30, Christine McGuinness, 34, and Lucrezia Millarini, 46.

Phoenix’s Spice Girl mum cheered her on in the audience as she achieved a close second place, while Tyson Fury joined presenters Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff in the studio.

In the men’s hammer competition, Ryan Thomas was crowned the winner with a throw of 28.91m after facing Kevin Clifton, Wes Nelson, Colson Smith, Josh Herdman and Max George.

Former Love Islanders Chloe Burrows, Olivia Attwood and Wes Nelson, Kevin from Strictly, Real Housewives of Cheshire star Christine, Max George from The Wanted, newsreader Lucrezia and Emmerdale actor Rebecca are taking part in the Games. ITV.

Meanwhile, Christine McGuinness broke down in tears as she opened up about her autism, after being diagnosed last year at the age of 33.

She said: “I was diagnosed last year so I will stay where I am comfortable because of this. I’m more afraid of the stadium than of sport. I want to do my best, but I’m afraid I can just freeze up and say I’m not doing it.

“I really hope that doesn’t happen because I only have one chance to get it right.”

Model Phoenix, songwriter Chelcee, Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman and former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas round out the cast.

All were taken out of their comfort zone to be trained as athletes, swimmers and cyclists to compete in the hopes of topping the medal table and being crowned winners.

Hosted live by Holly and Freddie, the Games will also see former professional footballer and presenter Alex Scott as on-track reporter and former professional football player and presenter Chris Kamara as commentator.

The six male competitors and six female competitors will compete in the athletics hall, swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome.

Each will put their sporting prowess to the test in events ranging from 100-meter sprints to diving, racking up points on the medal table.

As well as live coverage of the events, each episode will feature the preparation of celebrities as they learn the sport from the ground up from some of the UK’s top coaches.

They will aim to achieve peak physical condition through their grueling training schedule leading to competition.

As the leader board takes shape each night, the series will culminate in an exhilarating final showdown in which a male champion and a female champion will be crowned.
