Kieron Richardson says Father’s Day gets more magical every year after welcoming his beloved twins with husband Carl Hyland five years ago.

The 36-year-old actor – who plays Ste Hay in Hollyoaks – and his partner Carl are parents to Chase and Phoebe Ray via surrogate.

And the twins are particularly cherished by the couple after the surrogate had to make unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant on the third.

Happy family: Kieron Richardson, 36, says Father’s Day gets more magical every year after welcoming his beloved twins with husband Carl Hyland five years ago

Kieran told The Sunday People: ‘It’s our fifth Father’s Day now and every year it gets more and more magical.

“Children are now at an age where they have their personalities. I treat every day like Father’s Day because I’m so grateful and blessed.

“It’s about appreciating your parent and being grateful for everything they do. Every day is Father’s Day for us because it’s something we thought was unachievable.

“I’m so grateful that we have these two amazing children in our lives and we can just give them the best education we could ever imagine.”

Kieron said he can’t wait to open their children’s handmade cards and gifts at home on Father’s Day.

The couple announced they were expecting twins in December 2016 and welcomed Chase and Phoebe Ray to their family in 2017.

When Kieron came out in 2010, his character on Hollyoaks was coming to terms with his own sexuality as he fell for bad boy Brendan Brady.

Carefully helping Kieron out in 2010, Phillip told him: ‘Of course it’s on TV and it’s part of a character, but there are elements here that are actually quite close to your life you- same. And what would they be?

Kieron then revealed his truth, responding, “The fact that I’m gay in real life and at 20 I kind of accepted that myself. Now I can finally understand my character Ste, that he’s 20 years old and going through things that I’ve been through in my past.

Phillip then added: “People who know you will know it’s not a big surprise there, because your friends know it, your work colleagues know it, you had the conversation with your parents, but you don’t ever said it out loud. .’

Looking nervous, Kieron went on to say that during his time on Dancing On Ice earlier that year, bosses offered him the chance to come out on the show with his sexuality.

He declined as he didn’t want his personal life to overshadow his time in the competition.

Keiron said: “But now I feel it’s relevant and the storyline is relevant to certain situations in my life and if I could maybe help people who are going through the same thing, then that’s a bonus. ”
