Anil Kapoor is eagerly awaiting the release of his next film JugJugg Jeeyo, a family comedy-drama in which he shares screen space with Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and Kiara Advani. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, the film is set to hit theaters on June 24.
In a recent interview, the actor even shared why he hasn’t taken on any new Hollywood projects since starring in several Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire films in 2008. Anil even appeared in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the fourth episode of Tom Hanks. Mission Impossible series in 2011.
Talking about why he didn’t star in any foreign movies after that, the actor told Variety, “There are shows, movies, that get pitched to me. Sometimes things just don’t work out, for various reasons. Maybe it’s the, maybe it’s the script, maybe it’s the time they approached me.
“And sometimes there can be situations where I feel like it’s not worth going for that kind of film, or that kind of role. But I’m always open to jobs that put me challenge, who will help me develop my acting craft. And I would love to work with filmmakers who can challenge me and make me a better actor in the West. I look forward to it,” said added Anil.

Meanwhile, after Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Kapoor begins filming for Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. It also has Siddharth Anand’s Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in its pipeline. Both films are set to hit theaters in 2023.
