Halle Bailey channels her Little Mermaid character Ariel in green bikini while on beach vacation


She is set to star as Ariel in the upcoming live-action version of The Little Mermaid, due out in May 2023.

And on Tuesday, Halle Bailey shared two snaps of herself wearing a teal bikini and posing in the ocean.

The 22-year-old actress and singer showed off her incredible figure in a swimsuit, sharing the images on her Twitter and Instagram page.

The stunner showcased her toned midsection in the boldly hued two-piece; the star chose a ruched top that showed off her cleavage, pairing it with high-waisted bottoms.

Halle, who opted out of makeup, rocked red buff nails for another pop of color.

She shared a second photo of herself posing with her back turned while also in the water.

Halle captioned the images with, “When your bathing suit matches the water.”

Halle opened up about her role as Ariel during a Facebook Talks With Mama Tina appearance in January.

The brunette said she was “so nervous” before auditioning for the lead role.

“Getting this role was very surreal. It was a shock to me,” she said.

‘Even when I was asked to audition, I looked at it and I was like, ‘Me? For Ariel? is the red hair, pale skin and tail, and she was amazing to me. I loved him, like all of us. But that’s how I saw her for so long.

Following Halle’s announcement as Ariel, she received a lot of backlash from online critics who compared a photo of Ariel to Halle.

Halle plays Ariel alongside John Hauer-King as Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton with Jacob Tremblay voicing Flounder, Awkwafina voicing Scuttle, and Daveed Diggs voicing Sebastian.

The cast was announced as Ariel in June 2019.

Actress Halle Berry tweeted about Halle Bailey’s casting as Ariel, gushing over the young star.

The Little Mermaid is seated to swim in theaters on May 26, 2023.

The film wrapped production last summer, with the star reflecting on wrapping up filming with a stunning Instagram snap.

She shared a photo of herself with a mermaid tail and a message about the project and her journey as Ariel.

‘And just like that…it’s a wrap. From auditioning for this movie when I was 18, about to turn 19, to now finishing filming a pandemic when I turned 21… We finally got it done… I’m so grateful to have experienced this movie in all its glory,” she wrote.

She continued, “It has been the hardest experience to be away from everything and everyone I have ever known, to feel the self-doubt/loneliness, but also to feel such freedom and perseverance. as I reached the end. This experience has made me so much stronger than I ever thought I could be. I’m so grateful to have such lovely and talented people in the cast like @JonahHauerKing who will be my friend for endless lifetimes.
