While his life may not be perfect, the Lego Masters host said he always faced tough times with a sense of playfulness and fun.

“The one guiding philosophy I’ve ever had is that it’s always worth trying to have fun with what you’re doing,” he advised.

“If you put effort into having fun and creating something, and trying to spread a good feeling in the world, it’s always an effort well spent.”

Hamish married skincare entrepreneur Zoë, 41, in 2012. The couple are parents to two children – son Sonny, seven, and daughter Rudy, four.

On Sunday evening, Hamish shared a moving tribute to his wife and children while accepting his Gold Logie.

“My beautiful wife, this is – you can’t get up here unless you have amazing people behind you. You are the most amazing person,” he said.

In true Hamish style, the comic joked, “You stole my look for tonight. I had to find this quickly. Other than that, I think you do better anyway. Thank you darling.’

“And I would also like to thank you, little cry to our children. My children are everyone’s favorite. They can’t be here. They got fake IDs at the last minute and went clubbing.

“But I know they’ll watch it tomorrow when I do it on YouTube,” Hamish joked, adding, “So for my kids to win an award is good.” But the greatest prize is being your father. You are the most important.
