Chris Martin brought with him a puppet group called The Weirdos for his bizarre appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday.

The 45-year-old Coldplay idol has performed several times in live concerts with one of the puppets, Angel Moon.

And on his last talk show, Chris was joined on stage by the whole band for a rendition of their goofy psychedelic ballad Biutyful.

Wow: Chris Martin brought with him a puppet group called The Weirdos for his bizarre appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday

The Weirdos, hailing from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, are characters from another planet called Melissa.

Angel Moon told Jimmy that “the song is really about how there is beauty and magic in all things and all people”.

When they took the stage to sing, they were bathed in evocative dim lighting that gave their performance a feeling of outer space.

Chris and Angel Moon sang together, he in his normal voice and she in her enthusiastic falsetto voice, while the rest of the puppets were operated on to play instruments.

Towards the end of the wacky performance, multicolored confetti rained down on Chris and the puppets surrounding him.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s ex-husband also included the puppets with him for his interview segment which got more and more zanier as it progressed.

A green puppet with an English accent introduced himself: ‘Yeah, that’s right, I’m Donk, and believe it or not, I’m the normal, except I play the drums.’

“Yeah, my name is the wizard but I’m not that kind of wizard,” said another puppet. “I’m the type of guy who’s just super smart and I do magic.”

“Like a normal, like a wizard,” said Chris, who seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself as the puppets went about their routine.

“My name is Angel Moon,” Angel Moon said. ‘I am a singer. I’m 109 light years away. How old are you Jimmy? You are beautiful!’

Yet another puppet sat in the audience – a gray character in a sweater-jacket who was supposed to be the band’s manager, Bruce Cakemix.

Publicity rounds: Jimmy's other guest on tonight's episode was Ron Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, who was there to help his new film Jurassic World: Extinction

Chris and the puppets made sure to warn Jimmy that Bruce’s last name is pronounced “cuh-kay-mix”, not “cake mix”.

Donk said his planet was getting The Tonight Show but “it takes a long time for transmissions to reach our planet.” Yeah, on our planet, you’re still riding in a yellow cab with Queen Latifah.

When Jimmy asked Angel Moon her favorite thing on Earth, she replied, “My favorite thing on Earth is probably you.”

She then began to sing: “I only think of you, Jimmy”. That’s all I can do everyday, when I dream of you, Jimmy, Jimmy, J for Jimmy.’

‘I kind of begged and begged’: After finishing the previous Jurassic World film in Britain, she asked her dad if she could watch him as he made Solo: A Star Wars Story

Jimmy’s other guest on tonight’s episode was Ron Howard’s daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, who was there to help with his new movie Jurassic World: Extinction.

Bryce, looking every square inch of the busty bombshell as she took the stage in a plunging black dress, talked about following in her father’s footsteps in directing.

After finishing the previous Jurassic World film in Britain, she asked her father if she could accompany him as he made Solo: A Star Wars Story there.

“And he said no, and I just, I kind of begged and begged and said, ‘I’ll just be really quiet on set and no one will notice I’m there,’” she explained.

‘I mean, it’s amazing’: She’s since gotten directing gigs on episodes of two Star Wars spin-off series, The Book Of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian

“So I have to go out there and just observe and learn from him. It was also amazing because I hadn’t seen him directly on set since I was a kid. And now, being an actor and having spent a few decades doing this, I was like, ‘Oh, wow, you’re really good!’

She’s since landed directing gigs on episodes of two Star Wars spin-off series, The Book Of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian.

“I mean, it’s amazing,” she said of her involvement in the Star Wars universe. “But for me personally, it’s all the more significant that I was so lucky.”

She shared: “I basically grew up on my dad’s movie sets, and George Lucas – ever since my dad was 17, George Lucas was my dad’s mentor because my dad made a movie called American Graffiti.”

Having fun: Bryce and Jimmy also played a game where she had to listen to loud music on a pair of headphones and then try to lip-read everything he said

Bryce added that “George has children the same age as all the children in my family, so we were all raised together. And then I went to summer camp with Natalie Portman before she did the prequels.

She said that ‘because I knew George and all that kind of stuff I got to visit a bunch on the prequels, and so it’s a very personal thing that I feel very protective of for sure, from Star Wars , star Wars.’

Bryce made sure to chat about Jurassic World: Extinction, which sees the return of Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and BD Wong, stars of the original Jurassic Park movie.

The shoe is on the other foot: Finally, they switched roles and played again

“It’s a set,” she said of the former stars’ return. ‘Like it’s our whole movie. They don’t have cameos. Like it was their movie as much as any of ours.

Bryce has been a part of the Jurassic World franchise since its first installment in 2015 and was apparently in a mood to reminisce on Friday.

‘You know what’s crazy is when Chris Pratt did the first Jurassic, Guardians Of The Galaxy hadn’t come out yet, so that was the guy from Parks And Rec when he was doing the first Jurassic World’ , she said. “And it was really, he was like, ‘Oh, I hope what I did, Guardians, works out! “”
